Many website owners have at some point heard of ‘link building’ but have never really fully appreciated it and what it can do for your website. The idea of link building is a very simple one. You want other websites within your niche to link to your website, the more the better

The principle involves the more links you have pointing to your website i.e. The more websites linked to yours the more web traffic your site will attract. Even better than all this, is this type of marketing is completely 100% free as the traffic is all organic.

You have to remember that Google loves link building. If there are two websites with exactly the same content.

But if one of those websites begins link building with other sites online. They start swapping links with websites. Basically, they link to all websites that link to them. You could easily set this up with a “friends” section or setup an affiliate program which is an easy way to link build.

Google then starts to stand up and take notice that this website has ‘link backs’ with other sites.

Google will then look at these two websites which are the same, but only increase the page rank of that site which has ‘link backs.’ This is because Google sees a site which is freely linked to from other to having a first-rate reputation for the reason that lots of other websites are linked back to it.

So if you really would like to achieve more exposure for your website and increase the page rank within the search engines like Google and Yahoo, then you really need to implement link building in your marketing plan.
