How to Know If Your Web Site is Search Engine Optimized SEO
Many folks hire someone to build their website, and then they cannot understand why no one goes there. The reality is that the search engines can’t see it or do not find it, or that the low-priority index it. But why they ask? Well, because their website was not properly “search engine optimized” and yet, they had absolutely zero knowledge of this, all they knew was no one was coming to their website and although it showed up in Google it was on page 5-6 of the search results for their category.
Not long ago, someone asked me to look at their website, and they told me their web-guy was very smart and knew all that SEO stuff. So, I looked at the source code, because I was trying to determine what kind of clientele she was looking for with her “Art Work” sales website; and what type of art she was promoting. So, I was browsing her source code and looking for Key Words and Meta Tags. There were none; even the page titles were very non-descriptive and the pages? Well, lots of pictures hardly any text.
If this sounds like it might be you, or that you are having the same issues. Go to your website, then go to a place where there are no links, then “right click” next go down to “View Source” and click on it. Then you will see what I saw, when I review websites. You should tell your web guy or gal; what things people will be searching on the Internet who are looking to buy your type of items, and give him or her 7-10 words or more to put into the text and paragraphs, titles of pages, meta tags and key words with those words in them. Your website designer knows what to do, no big deal. Please consider all this.
