Many people who build and design their own websites try and trick the search engines into giving them higher quality and relevancy points by doing certain things to their HTML code and to the content on their site thinking that they wont get caught.

1. Do Not Trick The Search Engines
This means do not insert hidden tags or keywords into your content hoping that the search spiders won’t see it when they crawl your site. If you go to any website and press Ctrl + A at the same time you will see all the text on that page including any hidden text. Some search optimizers in the past have tried to hide paragraph long keywords under the color of their background so that it wont show up to the naked eye but will boost the ranking of ones site because of keyword relevancy.

2. Avoid Repetition At All Times
This means do not continuously repeat the keyword or phrase you are targeting, in your < meta > tags or throughout the content of your site. Sometimes people insert the same keyword phrase over and over throughout the content of a page to the point where the context makes no sense but the Search Marketer is hoping that because the keyword is named over and over that the site will get top ranking for being most relevant. If you get caught doing this, you will get banned!
