SEO and Internal Linking

There is a big buzz about linking which might lead you to think that only incoming links from other websites are the ones that really count. These do play a big part in your overall SEO but they are not the only important links you can use.

By using internal links and having the right sort of internal linking structure within your website you can also give your SEO a big helping hand. As you have total control over these links it makes sense to use them to their optimum.

If you have an internal linking structure it will make sure that every page of your website is found by Google’s programs or spiders. You can do this by having a link on every page of your site that links to every other page of your site. This will mean that all of the different pages that make up your site will be found by Google within two clicks and it will also increase the amount of search terms that you can go for because you can use a different search term for each of your different pages.

Having an internal linking structure will also help when developing the relevance of a page to its keyword. By using anchor text on your page leading to another page, it will tie up to the relevance of your site.
