Outlaw Traffic Exchange Owners are Not a Bad Thing
Traffic exchanges are becoming one of the most used sources of free traffic on the internet. They require you to view other member’s websites in exchange for credits. These credits can then be exchanged for views of your website.
There are several different fees associated with these types of systems. While the basic member sign up will usually be free, most traffic exchanges are set up to compel you to upgrade at the first opportunity. These sites are like any other business, they rely on money to keep running. Traffic exchanges seem to attract two types of owners.
The first type of traffic exchange owner is one who has spent several hours and even more dollars on surfing other people’s exchanges. The surfer turned owner sees the possibility of promoting their own sites while offering a valuable service for others who need traffic to their websites. This owner feels a responsibility to the exchange members and tries to communicate with them any time a problem arises. These types of site do require money to operate, but that is not the main reason behind this owners decision to operate a traffic exchange. This type of owner is usually more than happy if their site breaks even or at least doesn’t cost them more than they can afford to keep it running.
The second type of owner has only surfed enough sites to get to the upgrade page. They see several options to upgrade, with a lot of different prices attached. This type of traffic exchange owner envisions quick wealth from owning their own site. A low dollar investment finds this owner with an administrator panel filling their desk top’s screen. Getting a paid member list is the goal and they promise the moon if that is what it takes to get it.
The problems begin when the second type of owner reaches a stalemate in new members coming in. They can not fall back on their member base because they have given them enough credits to never need to purchase anymore. They have given full lifetime memberships to everyone so their is no incentive to upgrade. Commission payouts are due and hosting has to be paid to keep the site online. Too often this owner takes all the money in the account and hits the site delete button. This owner has been here before so they have already been promoting their new traffic exchange on the old one. Sadly a lot of the old members are taken in by all the free credits and upgrades. They have already signed up to this new exchange. Since the old one is gone they now have to invest again in this new exchange.
Be aware of the signs of a bad exchange owner. If you are receiving more credits than you can use in a month to join, this exchange will not be around long. When the twenty nine dollar lifetime account goes on sale for four ninety nine start backing up your sites.
Site owner one will do some crazy promotions in the early stages of the exchange. A membership base of one hundred to five hundred members is a must for this traffic exchange to appear valid to the not yet joined up prospective member. Once the membership reaches the starting goal, this owner knows to ramp things down and start running the traffic exchange like the business that it is.
You may not get two pocketfuls of credits from owner number one. You may not be a lifetime member without paying the price. If you join owner ones exchange you can expect quality traffic form a member base that will be around ten years down the road.
