Links Act Like Mini Funnels

Every time you put a link in a web page, an email, or a even a comment section of another person’s blog, you are creating an edge of a mini funnel that will draw traffic from one area into another. You want to be careful that you are driving traffic into your offerings and not someone else’s for it to be an effective sales tool for you. And, you also want to make sure that you don’t overwhelm the reader with too many links that make your content appear sparse and unappealing. The only time when you can have an entire list of links, is when you properly introduce the section as such, like in a Resource Section at the end of a lengthy ebook.

Links On Your Sales Pages

You should have a link to purchase the product at the very top of the sales page, after listing the main benefit of the product. That’s for those people who already know they want to buy and don’t need to be convinced. Then, you should have another link midway down the page, and one at the end. This is so that you are asking the reader to click the link and close the sale while they are reading your benefits. These links don’t build traffic, but they should build sales.

Email Links

Email links take your visitors to offers that can make a sale for you. In addition to that, you should also seek to offer free information that can help your reader so that they are more likely to open your emails in the future, whether they intend to buy or not. Email links should be used sparingly and be targeted directly to the topic being discussed.

Comments On Other’s Blogs

Comments on other people’s blogs, articles, or sites, is a great way to build links that increase your traffic and the actual value of your site. If you are careful to frequent sites that get a lot of traffic and are within your market niche, and become a regular contributer, you will find a perfect way to bring targeted traffic back to your site and offers.
